Gomenasai!!! So sorry for being away for soooo long!!

Oh my gawd folks,

I’ve been away from this blog for too long!! I’m so sorry to all my readers (just a few of you here, of whom have probably got even fewer) for my vanishing magic trick. It’s not amusing or climactic I know, and neither is it magical.

It sucks and I suck, I know.

Well, I was too busy with my daily routine and stuff, see. In a way I could say that I’ve ‘travelled’ away from this blog to do some other things and this actually fits my blog theme, since Ruzhi was Here is all about, well, travel. So give a round of roaring applause for my return aye!

Nah just cut this excuse and kick me in the ass. I deserve it.

So let me pick myself up again and slowly get back to travel blogger mode, and let me whip up stories based on my footprints. I’ll try to be as regular as I was back then, whether I travel or ‘travel’.

Arigatou guzaimasu for your understanding and once again, gomenasai! More articles about Japan to come soon!

‘Sorry’ he says, ‘Thank You’ he means: Some Japanese Manners I’ll Never Understand

Tell you something – I actually went to Japan ten years ago. And at that time I was very, very Malaysian. I am one obviously, but the point here is I’d never lived abroad.

And if you’re wondering why I’m emphasising my nationality, let me answer you by giving a brief intro on how we Malaysians carry ourselves in our daily lives. See for yourself, the boorish and selfish ways that Malaysians so fondly indulge in on an everyday basis.

If you’re from a more pleasant and polite part of the globe, reaffirm to yourself that the grass is not greener on the other side.

Retro Gaming and Childhood Memories at Super Potato!

“And he (Jesus) said: Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.”
-Matthew 18:3

I’m not religious but if the verse above was true, then I sure was a step closer to Paradise on the night of 12 November, 2013.

Because on that night, I was savouring all my favourite childhood games on almost every retro console you could think of: Nintendo, Sega Genesis, Playstation 1 and many more! Retro gaming sure brings back memories from decades ago and I felt like a child again, the mini-me I once was.

So if you too want to bring your inner child back or if you simply like retro gaming, get yourself to the video game shop I was at: Super Potato in Akihabara, Tokyo. If you ‘re seeking the kingdom of heaven you might want to give it a shot too 😛

Super Potato sells a wide variety of games and consoles from the days gone by:

People Photos from Japan!

And so, I’m officially back in Japan! Well, blog-wise only of course. My body is in boring Singapore and I use this blog to take me to where I want to be in spirit.

And let me bring you guys there too – through the products of my street photography, featuring the people of Japan!

But oh, my photos are dead lousy so pardon me. I was using a very old Olympus point-and-shoot see, and it’s rated one of the worst on CNET. And even among the terrible cameras, this one is the king, and by that I mean it’s the worst, not best, of the worst.

And on top of that, I’m a rookie photograher too.

And oh, all these were taken at a time when I didn’t approach others for permission. I swear I’m not being voyeur; I was just shy. I just wanted to capture the culture and everyday life in Japan and I believe people photos are the best way to accomplish this.

So now that I hopefully have your understanding (and sympathy LOL), let it roll.

Geishas in Asakusa Temple Tokyo (2)

Asakusa: What could be better than geishas and kimonos? And better still, at a temple?? They appeared so suddenly and were walking really fast – I had to rush in front of them without looking like a stalker!
